Remembrance Day Service, Sunday 11 November: WW1 100 Years
A very special service at All Saints' including participation from Langton Green Primary School - some children will be walking around the village beforehand and also look out for the 'There but not there' silhouette figures. Service starts at 10.00 followed by the gathering around the war memorial for 11.00 am. Afterwards, tea and coffee will be served at the Hare.
Children’s Chapel: Every Sunday (except 2nd Sunday All Age worship) the children are invited for a meditative, imaginative storytelling (using Godly Play). It has roots in Montessori education practice and philosophy. It is an approach that genuinely invites and enables children to participate for themselves in the exploration of collective and personal meanings found in Christian stories. We start in the main service and then go out to our beautiful chapel.
Faith 101: A conversation time for adults who want to know what God/church/Jesus is all about. Once a month on a Sunday morning in church. Like the kids go out to Sunday school, those interested will go out to a different room at the start of the service, and explore what faith is about over a coffee and croissant (returning at the end of the service). Might you be interested in being part of the group? It is a drop-in basis, so no need to sign up, you can just come and try it out. Dates for this term; 28th Oct, 25th Nov, 16th Dec 2018
All Age Worship: An interactive, thoughtful all-age communion service. Each child takes home a ‘gold box’ with an activity to do at home that links to the story explored in the service. 2nd Sunday in the Month (usually! Please check newsletter on church page to be sure).
Chocolate Church: Hot chocolate… Marshmallows…Whipped cream… pancakes… maple syrup… What’s not to like? 8am for 4-10 year olds (OK that’s the tough bit) for a scrummy breakfast and a chance to explore what is this God thing all about?
Little Saints is for parents and carers at home with children under school age. We gather in the church hall each Tuesday in term time at 9 – 11 am for a cup of tea or coffee and delicious homemade cake. Please contact Josie Gamble (ph. 862194) for details.
Pat's Coffee Morning takes place once a month on the second Wednesday and is held in the Church Hall, normally from 10.30am. The "special" Christmas one takes place on Wednesday 12 December. If you require help in getting up to the Church Hall on this day, please let Pam Morris know beforehand on 863620.
Wicked Wine Tasting – it’s Balderdash
The social committee present ‘Wicked Wine Tasting’ – fine wine and tall tales. Four ‘experts’ will try to convince you that their wine tasting notes are the correct ones for the wine you are drinking. Only one is telling the truth, the rest is balderdash – but can you work out which is correct?
Saturday 24th November @ The Pavilion Cafe, 7.15 for 7.30 pm. Tickets on Sale soon!
