Village Fete
Saturday 4th July 2009
I had a wonderful time at the Fete and I hope you all did, that’s all 3,000+ of you. Anyone who didn’t come missed a fantastic day, the rain held off and the sun shone, but it was not too hot. The Hog Roast sold out as did the bbq, beer tent, Pimms, ice cream, strawberries and cream, and the cakes in the tea tent. One Brownie had made 40 guinea pigs and even she sold them all. So well done to the whole village who supported us by buying programs and raffle tickets and giving us all that Bric-a-Brac, books and wine before the day, who came on the day and either helped on or bought things on the stalls, and spent on all the attractions of which there were many.
The first 3 raffle prizes went to people in the village with first prize going to Mr & Mrs Rooke who broke her ankle the night before the fete, I hope it gets better soon.
I must say thank you to Mr Shields for allowing us to use both sides of the Green again this year which helped to make it even bigger and better than last year, also my thanks to all my team who work so tirelessly on your behalf, the Rural Society and all the people who turn up to help us get ready for the day, there are so many who work behind the scenes we could not do it with out you. We are saying goodbye this year to Anita who organises all our stalls (how will I manage without you) and to Garry who ran the children’s games this year.
Things have been washed, the boxes are being packed up and put away and we are beginning to get back to normal, but if you would like to be part of it next year give me a call.
I have a small amount of lost property a bracelet, a wallet, and a small Peppa pig if they are yours please call me
If you would like to know where we spend your money just come along to the Rural Society’s AGM and see the accounts or ask any one on the Rural Society or even better if you would like a say in it why not join the Rural Society.
